Non League Day saw Redbridge held 0-0 by Wroxham.

Newly crowned Essex Senior Cup Champions REDBRIDGE were back in league action as they hosted Wroxham at the Oakside.

The away side looked the brightest in the opening stages wnning an early corner however it was the home side with the first attempt of the game, Soumen Nandi saw his effort blocked before Jack Chawner fired the rebound wide.

Chawner then swung in a dangerous free-kick which found the head of skipper Lewis Clarke who got his head to the ball only for Wroxham debutant keeper Billy Johnson to quickly get down and turn behind.

Wroxham then came forward as Joao Ranger broke free bearing down on goal but Connor Wheatley showed good reactions to deny him with a good stop.

The remainder of the half passed without little goalmouth action in what had been a tight affair.

The home side started the second half strongly, Loui Johnson in a good position but rather than put this foot through it he decided to try and place his effort into the far corner only to see it charged down and cleared to safety.

Bradley Bennett then saw a shot blocked before Nandi cut inside only to shoot wide of the upright.

Wroxham were then presented with a good opportunity, Ranger again in space but once again Wheatley came out on top standing tall to deny him.

Ranger who seemed to be involved in most of Wroxham's good play then made a strong run up field before falling to the ground within the penalty box , the referee in close proximity waved away any appeals and play continued.

Both sides then looked to the bench for a change of fortunes , Wroxham sub Ryan Hawkins got in front of his defender but miscued his effort well wide.

Redbridge saw efforts by Johnson and Ayo Odukoya comfortably saved before Hawkins tried a speculative volley which drifted wide.

Wroxham ended the game the stronger and looked the most likely to grab a goal but in the end defences won the day cancelling each other end and the match ended goalless.
