Club chairman Dan Holloway gives an official statement on last week and the latest situation regarding the 1st team manager.

Last week was a stressful and less than pleasant week for our Football Club, and I would now like to place the actual facts of that on record.

Our results from the start of the season meant that we had to have a review of ourselves. After much consideration and sole searching on Monday 27th September I decided to disband our management team and make a change, consequently Dave Ross (who had always given 100% effort and shown great loyalty and enthusiasm for his job) was released from his duties, the club then invited Kevin Durant to become the new manager and it was hoped that Kris Taylor and Scott Cannon would remain as senior members of Kevin's team.

Kris and Scott dealt with team affairs at Wingate and Finchley on Tuesday 28th and whilst we suffered another defeat, it must be said that all concerned rallied around and the performance was encouraging.

During the period between 28th and Friday 1st October negotiations were ongoing between the club and Kevin Durant with regard to him taking on the managers role and after much debate an all round mutually acceptable agreement could not be reached.

As a consequence Kris Taylor was appointed first team manager on Friday 1st October, fortunately the result and performance against Chatham Town on Saturday were both positive and encouraging, and he will, over the next week or so appoint his own management and coaching team to work with him to work towards the essential goal of establishing a respectable position in the Ryman League Division 1 North, a status that is essential to our overall development plans.

In conclusion the club wishes to place on record its sincere thanks to Dave Ross for his efforts, enthusiasm and loyalty during his year in charge and wish him the very best for the future.

Dan
