A bad first half performance from the Motormen saw them slip to their second pre-season defeat against Essex senior side Enfield.
Redbridge could have taken the lead inside five minutes, but Aaron Matthews saw his shot hit the frame of the goal. Minutes later and they were behind. A free kick was floated into the box and was met by an unchallenged header to put Enfield ahead.
The second goal was slightly controversial. After good work down their right flank it appeared Joe Kizzi had strayed offside, however, the goal stood and it was Two - nil and only fourteen minutes played.
In the 34th minute midfielder Jake Giddings picked the ball up from his own half and found space to run into. Redbridge failed to put a
challenge in and seconds later found themselves three goals down.
The second half was a much more positive display from the Motormen. They dominated the half but failed to take their chances. In the 70th minute they got their goal but it proved to be a consolation. The keeper could only parry a Les Thompson shot and Danny Charge was there to tap it in.
It may not have been Redbridge’s finest performance but co-managers Dave Ross and Ricky Eaton will have found some positives to take into their opening league game next week.
