

Redbridge made it 5 wins from 6 in pre season after a hard fought win at home to Newbury Forest. The home side took the lead after just 4 minutes when Hooper’s teasing cross was turned home by Dan Chambers to make it 1-0. The visitors responded just 14 minutes later when the man who looked most likely to score Wallis, smashed into the roof of the net to bring the Newbury level. A few half chances were missed from either side and went into the break at 1-1. Minutes after Hooper flashed a cross across the face of goal Newbury took the lead, Captain Danny Kenny curled an unstoppable effort into the top corner to give the away side the lead. Only 7 minutes later back came Redbridge, danger man Hooper’s cross was headed home by Chambers, who grabbed his second of the afternoon. The game looked to be fizzling out to a draw, Redbridge had other ideas, man of the match Hooper’s header was saved leaving Wallace with the easy task of following up to give the home side a well deserved 3-2 win.
