

Redbridge were knocked out the FA Trophy in a closely fought encounter against Ryman South side Whyteleafe.
Whyteleafe who sit 2nd in the Ryman South secured their place in the FA Trophy first qualifying round after coming back from a goal down to beat Redbridge 2-1 at the Oakside.
Goals from Vinny Murphy and Bentley Graham sent the sides in to the break level but Jason Thompson’s second half strike gave Whyteleafe the victory and set up a 1st round match against Dunstable Town.
In form Redbridge broke the deadlock after 35 minutes when Murphy’s long range free-kick evaded everyone and crept in at the near post.
The home side were good value for their lead but unable to hold on until the break as Graham levelled the match for Whyteleafe in first half injury time when he fired home a close range effort after the ball had come back off the crossbar.
In the second half the visitors took the lead following a superb free-kick from Thompson which found the top corner of the net leaving Jack Avery in goal no chance.
Redbridge pushed for an equaliser but Whyteleafe held out for the victory. Redbridge managers Dave Ross and Ricky Eaton would have been pleased with the performance and will be looking to carry that into their league match at home to Waltham Abbey on Tuesday night.
