Two form sides met as the Oakside in front of the largest crowd of the season thanks to the superb away support that are the Clapton Ultra’s.
Early escape for the home side when a free kick was floated in finding Dylan Ebengo who saw hias header beat the dive of Jake Mernagh but bounced off a post and the rebound was fired wide.
Redbridge took the lead with their first attack after 7 mins, good play down the left flank from Bryan Kyungo saw him find Lee Weemes in space. The striker saw his effort well saved by Richie Robins in goal but unfortunatelty the ball rebounded back against a Clapton defender and into the net for an own goal.
Clapton quickly looked to respond and were not behind for long as they pulled an equaliser back when Stefan Meisen beat the offside trap before he calmly slotted past Mernagh.
Their joy was short-lived as just two minutes later the home side were back in front through top scorer Jacob Dingli who pounced on some hesitant defending to net from close range.
Clapton then thought they had levelled only to see the assistant on the far side flag for offside however the crazy start to the game continued shortly after as they equalised again when Raphael Duyile fired home via the body of Redbridge defender Ore Odutola
The game was being played at a fast pace and certainly entertaining especially for the mutual supporter.
Clapton were on top and in particular were looking dangerous on the attack having an effort cleared off the line before Ryan Reed saw his cross cum shot skim off the crossbar.
Duyile then turned his marker inside out before firing a shot which Mernagh was equal to.
Redbridge then had a couple of chances of their own firstly when a Sangolo corner was touched just wide by Dingli before a Jack Roult free kick found the Charlie Parish who powered his header goalwards but straight into the arms of Robins.
As half time approached the motormen seemed certain to go in at the break in front after a good move saw the ball crossed into the path of Weemes who saw connected from just a couple of yards but his effort was turned away with an unbelievable save from Robins.
The second half started slower than the first and it was the away side who had the best chance as a close range effort was headed off the line by captain Parish. The same player then found himself in unchartered terretiroy at the other end of the pitch going close as he connected onto a through before putting his effort just wide of the post.
Redbridge striker Weemes was having one of those days where nothing would go in for him as he once again found himself in space but his tame effort was hit straight at Robins.
After a period of play without any goals the game suddenly came to life once again as Ajani Domingo-Carrington suddenly found some space in front of him and although his shot was well saved the same player then poked home from close range to give his side the lead for the first time in the game.
In keeping with the nature of the match the hosts immediately equalised as Weemes finally got on the score sheet. He buried a chance at the third time of asking after two earlier blocked efforts.
Chances came and went for both sides and Ryan Reed did well on the left flank for Clapton as he cut inside but from an acute angle he blasted well over.
A great chance for Redbridge followed when Dingli found Kyungu who let fly but could not keep his shot down.
With minutes remaining some great defending stopped Clapton from scoring as the home side’s defenders threw their bodies in front of the ball but they did manage to score the winning goal in stoppage time when Reed drilled home after two blocked efforts saw the loose ball fall into his path.
The win kept Clapton in 4th position and saw Redbridge drop a place to 11th in turn ending their November unbeaten run.
