Redbridge made the short journey to the Old Spotted Dog to face a Clapton side whom at start of play were sitting pretty at the top of the table.
Unfortunately for them their was only a low crowd of 32 watching on as the ongoing boycott by the Clapton Ultra’s fans looked to continue, they were however visible outside the ground and still made themselves heard.
The home side started on the front foot and almost took the lead when a dangerous cross was whipped in which Jake Mernagh managed to at first hold before then dropping the ball which was almost bundled in.
A great chance soon followed for the Motormen when a Reside Coxi-Sebastfao shot was only parried away into the path of Adam Hunt who looked certain to score but his shot was deflected away for a corner.
A lovely move for Redbridge soon followed almost resulting in a goal but a Clapton defender was just able to get back in time before Coxi-Sebastfao set himself up to shoot.
The away side were bossing the game and Jacob Dingli beat his man to the ball but was unable to keep his attempt on target frustratingly looking at the surface.
Clapton’s best chance then came when a fierce shot was saved by Mernagh. The chance was then followed by another good attempt this time from a corner which was met with a thumping header which just went wide.
Into the second half and Clapton had an early chance which Mernagh from a sitting position managed to save well with his feet.
Redbridge then put a good move together after a Hunt crossfield pass found Joe Gent who got himself into the box but just as he was about to cross the ball a defender got back to make the tackle.
Clapton then put some pressure on Redbridge with a series of corners before a long range effort almost stunned Mernagh as it hit the outside of the post.
Redbridge almost scored when a corner was swung in and three players all had a stab at the ball but missed as the loose ball ran out for a goal kick.
Clapton looked the most likely to score as the match came towards it’s end but the away defence stood firm as they kept only their first clean sheet in 14 outings before the final whistle blew.
