Redbridge hosted Hullbridge Sports as they looked to bounce back from last weekend's defeat at Sporting Bengal United.

A good start to the match saw them take an early lead , the returning Aron Gordon did well on the flank before finding Brian Moses. He had time to control turn and fire past a diving Jamie Merralls to put his side infront.

It should have been two shortly after when Jacob Dingli was set free in space but he shot wide when he had better options available.

Home side continued to control the early possession , good work by Gent forcing a corner which was swung in finding the jump of Sean Kettle who just headed over the bar.

The best chance for Hullbridge soon followed when Luca Francis found space on the left and his shot beat Mernagh at his near post but bounced back off the cross bar and away to safety.

Redbridge carved out another chance when Gent found Dingli who shot first time just rattled against the post and out for a goal kick.

Ryan Wallington then broke forward for the away side and ignoring his team mates decided to shoot but his effort flew high and wide.

Redbridge gave away possession too easily and allowed Dean Wallace to pick up the ball and shoot from distance , the ball just inches over the bar.

Gordon then released Dingli but just as he was about to go around the keeper he lost control and the chance was gone.

Superb chance for home side spurned by Moses after being put through by captain Jamie Alexandrou. His strength took him post his marker and with time on his side he tried to pass the ball into the back of the net but his effort aguishly drifted wide.

Hullbridge turn to come forward and a long range attempt from Dan Regan saw Jake Mernagh pull off a diving save.

Aron Gordon broke forward cutting inside past two defenders and with the goal in sight his final effort was too weak and went straight into the arms of Jamie Merralls in the Hullbridge goal.

Another chance went begging when Brian Kyungu exchanged passes with Moses before the ball fell to Dingli who chose to find Gent but he was in an offside position.

Lovely ball over the top from Gordon found Dingli who twisted past a defender but his effort drifted wide.

Redbridge piled forward with some lovely passing with the ball eventually falling agt the feet of Gent who floated the ball goal bound but it rebounded off a post.

The next move from the home resulted in a penalty , Gent ran onto a through ball and saw his shot cleared off the line back into the path of Dingli who was then bundled to the ground.

He picked up the ball placing it on the spot and although his effort beat the keeper he bounced back off the post. Moments later he had the chance to make amends when through one on one but as he rounded Merralls he tripped over his own feet and the ball was cleared to safety.

Hullbridge went down to 10 men after an injury forced off a player and them having already made all their available substitutions.

Another chance went begging in the final minutes as Adam Hunt went through and squared to Kyungu who seemed certain to score but his effort was cleared off the line by a defender.

At the death agony struck for the home side when a long ball was floated into the box and a mix up between defender and goalkeeper allowed substitute to fire home an equaliser breaking Redbridge hearts
