Redbridge travelled to the Mile End Stadium to face Tower Hamlets in which was their 3rd match in the past six days as they looked to consolidate top spot in the Essex Senior League.
The visitors in their first attack saw Marcus Carter fall to the ground in the box but any penalty appeals were quickly waved away by the referee whilst at the other end a poor clearance by Lewis Greene was seized upon by Maka Julio who tried an audacious lob however the Redbridge keeper was quickly back in his area and able to collect the ball.
The Motormen opened the scoring on 13 minutes when Eljay Worrell stepped up to take a free-kick from outside the box finding the corner of the net after the ball looked to take a slight deflection off a Tower Hamlets defender. Redbridge continued to dominate the early proceedings forcing a number of corners whilst the home side were frustrated pumping long balls up field which were unable to find their strikers.
A superb chance then came for the away side when Reside Coxi-Sebastfao passed into the feet of Martin Tuohy who flicked the ball towards Brian Moses and with time in which to pick his spot he was only able to drill the ball wide of a post.
A rare opportunity followed for the home side when Hasan Mustafa took advantage of a defensive slip by Jonathon Mbamarah and he put in a good cross into the middle finding Cutis Pond who failed to make a decent connection and the ball was cleared to safety.
The hosts then created a good chance when Mustafa shrugged off a defender and got a shot in which Greene got down low to and made the save. At the other end Moses then show wide before Coxi-Sebastfao cut inside from the left flank to see his shot deflected out for a corner.
Redbridge then doubled their lead after a long throw found Moses who headed down into the path of Worrell who was able to sneak in before Jerome Anthony in goal to poke home his second of the game.
Anthony then was quick off his line to deny Tuohy before Coxi-Sebastfao was unable to capitalize from distance as the half time whistle then blew.
The 2nd period almost started with a comical own goal as a Redbridge cross was headed goal wards just dropping wide of a post much to the relief of the player.
Coxi Sebastfao then tested Anthony from distance who got down to make a good save before Tuohy then released Moses who looked certain to score but once again the goalkeeper stood firm and pulled of a good save to keep the score down.
He however was unable to deny a 3rd goal which shortly came as Moses linked up well with Tuohy who calmly slotted home from close range. With the away side in total control they made a triple substitution which included last season’s top scorer Jacob Dingli.
The striker wasted no time in finding the net as he was quickest to react after Anthony had made a save from fellow substitute Calvin Poku’s initial effort .
Tower Hamlets tried to hit back forcing a couple of free kicks which were well defended before the loose ball was blasted well over the bar.
The final word went to the away side as in injury time Dingli raced onto a through ball and although it first appeared he was well tackled the referee after liaising with the assistant pointed to the spot. The ball was handed over to Worrell who made no mistake in sending the goalkeeper the wrong way before running off to celebrate with his team mates and the away bench.
A thoroughly convincing performance keeps Redbridge five points clear at the top of the table and extends their unbeaten run to 7 matches.
