Table topping Motormen entertained Waltham Forest in the 2nd Round of the Gordon Brasted Memorial Trophy.
The fixture was originally scheduled to take place at Wadham Lodge however it was agreed to be switched to the Oakside on order to get the match played this side of Christmas plus at the same time it helps out our opponents in their current plight to save their club.
Redbridge made five changes to their line up after Saturday's victory at Sawbridgeworth Town whilst Forest arrived three games unbeaten and fresh from a win against title contenders Takeley.
Brian Moses and Jacob Dingli were forming a smart partnership up front but were unable to carve out any clear chances.
Ex Motorman Harrison Tweddell then intercepted a poor pass from a Redbridge player but shot wide when he should have done better.
Dingli then ran onto a Turner through ball and crashed to the ground as he connected with goal keeper French.
At first it appeared the referee had pointed to the penalty spot but after a long delay whilst French received treatment a goal kick was finally awarded.
Shortly after however Redbridge took the lead after a neat passing move ended with Moses laying the ball into the path of Phillip Browne-Bamfpoe who fired from distance low into the corner of the net.
A Dingli overhead kick then went over the bar before Forest attacked again through Tweddell who shot was saved at the second attempt by Jack Francis.
Browne-Bamfpoe then round Dingli who got in front of his man but dragged his shot wide of the upright.
Dingli and Moses both had further efforts but it was Forest who went closest when the ball was cut back to substitute Daniel Medina who fired over from close range which proved to be the last chance of an entertaining first half.
Forest looked strong in the early stages of the 2nd period having lots of possession and it was not a surprise to see them draw level.
Michael Creasey got on the end of a Abiola Tanimowo cross and had the simple task of tapping home.
The goal certainly gave Forest added confidence as they continued to come forward and Medina almost grabbed a quick fire second.
Redbridge were unable to find their free flowing football and a Reside Coxi Sebastfao shot was all they could offer.
A narrow escape as Redbridge somehow cleared the ball off the line however the referee had blown possibly for an offside decision.
Forests patience was finally rewarded when a ball over the top found Tanimowo who beat the oncoming Francis to the ball and fired into an empty net.
Redbridge desperately tried to find a way back into the match and sub Calvin Poku had a good chance as he brought the ball down but agonisingly shot wide.
The chance had gone for Redbridge and with it an opportunity of cup success as this was their final involvement in a cup competition this season.
Focus must now switch back to the league as they have a weekend off before next facing Woodford Town in 10 days time.
