They had an early scare however when Cain Brousham found space out on the right before thumping his effort against the post with George Martin in goal beaten.
Darren Seymour then placed a chance wide as the away side certainly started the better of the two teams.
Their early dominance was rewarded after just six minutes when a misjudged header by Joe Maskell played onside ex Redbridge player Henry Osei and he crossed into the path of Edward Cooper who although failed to make a proper connection his shot still managed to squirm through the arms of Martin who failed to keep the ball out.
Redbridge were showing very little in the final third and their first chance came through a hopeful opportunity for Dean Hall who shot wide.
May & Baker attacked again through Carl Patten who was presented with far too much time and space as he looked up and fired a shot which flew just wide of the upright.
A second goal soon followed for the away side as a ball came over from the right finding Cooper unmarked, this time he returned the favour laying the ball into the path of Osei who was able to control and place his effort into the corner of the net.
A lifeline for Redbridge who needed a reply and got just that, Terry Omoufi saw his cross evade several players but fortunately Sam Dickens was on hand at the far post to strike home his first goal for the club.
As the half time whistle Redbridge were undone yet again with a poorly conceded goal, deep into their opponents half Charleston Browne saw his long throw cleared up field and a long ball straight over the top found the run of Osei in acres of space and he ran through on goal and with just Martin in goal he made no mistake and slotted home his second of the game.
Redbridge came out for the second half needing a big 45 minutes if they were to get anything from this match. Early chances from Joe Johnson and Omoufi failed to trouble Jack Riddell in goal before James Barlow then put a volley wide.
A double substitution for the home side followed as they continued to put pressure on their opponents, one of those in Keke Orth fired over from a wide position.
Redbridge's task ahead was made even more difficult when they were reduced to ten men after Johnson got more ball than player in his challenge and the referee showed him a red card.
Carl Patten stepped up and hit the ball low to Martin's right but he got down quickly and managed to turn the ball around the post, it was an important stop as a 4th goal for May & Baker would have surely killed the tie.
A Dickens free kick which sailed over the bar was about the best the home side could offer as May & Baker looked comfortable with their two goal advantage and although they too were reduced to ten men when Jake Piper received his marching orders they were able to hold on for a well deserved victory.
Redbridge were disappointing yet again as they exited the competition at the first hurdle against lower league opposition, next up a big league clash against Woodford Town next Friday evening.
