The gap between level's 4 and 5 was emphasised by this comprehensive defeat in a game when Athletic did not play badly.
Redbridge took the lead in the 6th minute and from then on took control of the game, breaking fast from the back and stretching the home defence. Several efforts went just wide or were saved by Mike Underwood before a long throw was turned in at the near post in the 21st min.
In the 28th minute a supurb move resulted in a cross to the far post which was headed in for no.3 Tring reduced the lead immediately when Matt Jarvis ghosted in on an Andy Mullins free kick to head home. Redbridge soon regained the 3 goal advantage when a shot was deflected over Mike and into the goal and in the 40th minute this was increased further when another corner was headed in at the near post.
The start of the second half saw Mullins pick out Andy Humphreys who was unlucky not to score. Graham Hall had a good shot before the visitors increased their lead when Mike Underwood was cleverly beaten by the Redbridge no. 14. Tring continued to try to play football but even with several changes from both sides Redbridge continued to dominate the game and added further goals in the 60th and 70th minutes.
In the 78th minute Tring did get a second goal when a Paul Jeffrey's cross was spilled by the keeper and Vinnie Iannone making his first appearance this season forced the ball home.
Redbridge played some supurb football and played the game at a pace we have not encountered this pre-season. It was good to see that even when being dominated like this Tring still kept going through out the game.
