The Motormen travelled to Scaley Road for their first away fixture of the new season as both sides were looking to put points on the board and avenge opening day defeats.

Early exchanges were tight as both sides cancelled each other out but it was the home side who opened the scoring on 13 mins with their first atttack. Andrew Justin turned inside his marker and slotted his shot past Parker in goal.

The home side continued to attack and pressure the Redbridge back line before we carved out out best chance when a Shane Wallace free kick found the head of Leon Thomas but he was
denied by a great save from the Heybridge keeper.

As the half neared it's end Heybridge almost scored again but Neil Richmonds shot was turned away by the legs of Parker in goal.

The second period began with drama as Parker rushed out of goal bringing down a Heybridge attacker. The free kick was given and after much discussion between officials only a yellow card was shown much to the relief of everyone in the away dugout.

The away side had the better of the opportunities but failed to take advantage as they missed several good chances to put the game to bed and how that proved costly.

With just four minutes remaining a corner came in and was headed away into the path of substitute Daniel Charge. With one touch he brought the ball down on his chest swivelled and smashed the ball home from fully 25 yards out leaving Sambridge in goal no chance.

With 5 minutes injury time played Heybridge almost won it but a post came to the rescue before the referee called time.
