Redbridge fell to their second defeat in three days after a poor home display against Brentwood Town in the pouring rain at Oakside. The visitors took the lead on just seven minutes. Whites quick feet and impressive through ball was coolly dispatched by Stanley. The home side failed to fashion any major chances throughout the first half with their only effort on target from Daniel Charge that was easily saved by Bowles. Brentwood doubled their lead just before the interval. Rees reacted quickest to convert from 10 yards out after Redbridge failed to clear. Minutes into the second half the visitors were inches away from making it 3, Gardener was unlucky to see his free kick cannon back of the bar and away to safety. Mark Parker made a string of fine saves to keep the hosts in it and prevent Brentwood’s lead from increasing. Patrick Damali had Redbridge’s best chance of the game on 80 minutes; his shot was blazed over when he really should have done better. Despite a late consolation from Charge Redbridge fell to their 4th league defeat of the season.
