After leading three times Barking lost what would have been a hard earned point when Redbridge scored a 91st minute winner from the spot and made it another miserable evening and a defeat that is hard to swallow. Concerningly the Blues have conceded four goals for the second game running with Redbridge scoring four two games in a row.
After five minutes Redbridge keeper Connor Wheatley is called into action when he has to save a chested back pass from his colleague Bradley Bennett. Barking start to settle into the game and on ten a Luke Hirst header nearly finds Tim Ogunrinde but Wheatley is quick off his line to collect the ball. Seven minutes later Redbridge come close to scoring with Barking seeming to stop waiting for an offside call, Dev Bhamra is quickly out from his goal to block a shot. Redbridge then have penalty appeals waved away by the referee from a follow up tackle. Barking edge in front on 23 when a foul on Ogunrinde produces a free kick from which Ahmed Abdulla finds the head of Alfie Leach to score his second goal of the season.
Five minutes later The Motormen have a free kick of their own which causes problems and only a last ditch challenge stops a goal bound shot. The scores are level on 31 when Redbridge win a free kick after the referee at first seemed not to be interested then suddenly changed his mind, when the free kick comes in Tony Martin powers home a header to equalise. Just three minutes later Barking are back in front when after good work winning the ball back Luke Hirst is allowed the time and space to shoot from outside the area and he finds the net via a slight deflection.
Apart from one chance where Bhamra makes a good save, but was not quite able to gather the ball cleanly, but Barking kept the defensive door shut to reach half time leading 2-1.
After the break the Blues fail to establish a real foothold in the game and their single goal lead looks more and more fragile a time progresses. After 52 some slack play leads to a cross into our box from which Martin seems poised to get on the end of but the ball runs away from him. Two minutes later that is all forgotten as a Redbridge attack forces a corner which is headed away by Jess Norey but it is met with a first time volley which flies past Bhamra and into the net. On 64 the home retake the lead as another free kick gives Abdulla the chance to repeat his trick of finding the head of Alfie Leach, who duly obliges to make the score 3-2.
The lead last only a minute as the ball goes loose in the box after Bhamra had lost It, this presents an easy chance to a visiting forward to poke the ball home. With twelve minutes Abdulla nearly scores himself when collects the ball and shoots but his effort is the wrong side of the post. There was always the feeling that there was one goal left in the game and it in the first minute of added time Redbridge are awarded a penalty for hand ball – Loui Hazlewood steps up and fires the ball into the net and in doing so consigns Barking to a second consecutive defeat
