

WALTHAM Forest substitute Robert Carter headed wide in the last minute of their 0-0 home match with Redbridge played at Oakside because of floodlight problems at Cricklefield Stadium.
Redbridge defender Simon Peddie’s last ditch tackle on substitute Jermain Hughes lead to a corner that Carter headed wide from 12 yards.
Waltham Forest manager Raz Adedokun thought his side was the better team in the match.
He said: “We deserved to win and we were just unlucky. However, we have a compact team and we’re getting there gradually.
“We’re building the team for next season and I can really rely on the team to be disciplined.”
Earlier McCarthy made an easy save from a Dean James volley before stopping Ian Walsh’s cheeky flick from six yards a minute before the break.

On 67 minutes Des Thomas almost scored an own goal when his header from Peddie’s free kick cannoned off the post.
With 15 minutes remaining Redbridge keeper David McCarthy pushed out Stanley’s shot from 25 yards and the ball was smuggled to safety.
A fiery match ended with mass pushing after the final whistle from players on both sides.
