The Motormen hosted Isthmian League football back at the Oakside Stadium for the first time since the 2015/16 season as they welcomed Stowmarket Town to the Oakside in what was the first ever meeting between the two sides.
The hosts got their first deserved win of the season as skipper James Barlow headed Redbridge ahead within the first minute, further chances came from Remi Nelson and George Purcell whilst Jack Chawner worked tirelessly as ever in midfield.
Into the second half and with Stowmarket chasing the game they eventually equalised through Scott Sloots but within a minute substitute Soumen Nandi restored the home side’s lead as he slid home a cross from fellow sub Ibrahim Kehinde to seal the victory for Redbridge in the pouring rain.
