Recent bad weather meant Redbridge were playing a home fixture for the first time since before Christmas as they hosted Brentwood Town.
It was however the away side who took all three points despite a second half fightback from the home side.
The hosts felt they should have been awarded an early penalty but it was not given and the day went from bad to worse then on in.
Brentwood took control of the fixture and took the lead through McKenzie before an excellent second goal from Ngandu gave them a 2-0 half time lead and it seemed a result was beyond the reach of the hosts.
However Ayo Odukoya scored for Redbridge from a James Barlow cross to half the deficit and give some hope of a comeback point.
However an unfortunate own goal from defender Henry Day sealed the win for Brentwood who had substitute Reid sent off in the final minute to end with 10 men.
