A Lewis Clark was cancelled out by a 96th minute equaliser by Brightlingsea Regent as the game ended 1-1

The Motormen were denied by a late late strike from ex striker Kurt Smith as the match ended all square.

Brightlingsea started the stronger as Marlon Agyakwa brought a save out of Connor Wheatley within the first minute.

At the other end Louie Johnson tried his luck with Greene off his line but his speculative effort flew over the bar.

Solomon Ogunwomoju then found himself through on goal from a Johnson header but took too long to find his feet and allowed Greene to come out and make the save.

Harry Honesty was then allowed to carry the ball up field before testing the reflects of Wheatley who palmed over.

Redbridge were now well back in this game and were soon handed the chance to go ahead after they were awarded a penalty when Odukoya went down in a crowded penalty area , the referee in a good position showed no hesitation in pointing towards the spot.

Adakoya dusted himself off to take the kick , shooting low down to Greene’s left but the ex Redbridge keeper was equal to it and made the stop.

A let off indeed for Brightlingsea Regent who were happy to go into the break level.

Within just three minutes of the break Redbridge were ahead, Solomon Ogunwomoju won his side a free-kick which Jack Chawner whipped in towards the near post finding the run of skipper Lewis Clark who with a deft touch prodded the ball into the corner of the net.

Redbridge were now in the ascendency with Louie Johnson going close as his shot was turned around the post by Greene.

Substitute Tendai Quamina showed good skill on the right to put over a cross which was deflected into the path of Johnson who saw his effort blocked.

It was all one way traffic here as Redbridge knocked on the door looking for a second goal.

A ball was played into the path of Johnson who ran clear however just as he was about to pull the trigger another ex Redbridge player in defender Eljay Worrell made a superb defensive tackle.

Quamina then saw a shot cleared off the line by Kojo Apenteng with Greene beaten as the pressure continued to mount.

Brightlingsea then did eventually come forward as a good ball by Smith almost found Kai Fletcher however he was denied by a good tackle from Ronnie Winn, soon after Apenteng fired wide.

As the board went up to indicate 5 minutes of added time Redbridge had a let off as defender Jake Thompson found himself with a shooting opportunity but basted over.

Redbridge then won a series of corners and with the ball at the right end of the pitch firmly believed that was that however Thompson won possession before playing a long ball over the top finding the run of Smith who was able to hold off a defender before emphatically firing home past Wheatley to break Redbridge hearts.
