The first attempt of the match fell to Grays when Shane Temple tried his luck but his shot was always heading wide.

Until now it had been the away side with the majority of possesion and they came close again with the lively Gordon dragging a shot just wide of the upright.

The first chance of the match for Redbridge duely arrived, Tendi Quamina running onot a Solomon Ogunwomoju pass and as he went past Daniel Sambridge in goal he almost fell however stayed on his feet which resulted in his eventual shot lacking power and was in turn easily cleared away.

Sambridge then denied Quamina with an important stop before Jack Chawner had an effort well blocked, inbetween Grays had a good opportunity through Sam Bantick whose volley was gathered by Spence.

Into the second period and as expected Grays came out quickly in search of the equaliser, Spence down quickly to palm away a Temple effort.

The away side continued to put pressure on the Redbridge defence and they were back level on 72 minutes when Harry Hope headed back across goal at the far post seeing his effort beat Spence.

Both sides had opportunities to go ahead, Spence firstly saving from Matas Skarna before Malachi Napa almost catching Sambridge off guard at his near post.

A big penalty shout for the home side as the ball was headed down clearly hitting a Grays defender arm but the referee was quick to wave away any appeals.

Substitute Louis Remi caused problems once introduced as he dragged a shot wide before crossing for Gordon who saw his shot saved by Spence.

With the match now entering injury time Grays were denied a winner when Spence made an important stop however there was little he could do when in the 8th minute of added on time a cross was delivered volleyed home emphatically by Alejando Machado to seal the victory and make it a magical 9th win on the spin.
