Aveley went straight down to business against Redbridge testing the defence right from the opening whistle.
Ahmed Deen had an effort just whistle past the crossbar, Petrit Elbi had a run into the box thwarted by AJ Adelekan and several Aveley crosses could have caused problems had they not been cleared by the Redbridge backline.
James Marrable’s first involvement of the game came on 15 minutes when he had to rush out of the box to kick away a through ball that Michael Ogboin was chasing. Redbridge also won a corner after Billy Drake put Junior Baker under pressure and he had to head the ball away for a corner. Ogboin was able to connect with the resulting corner but couldn’t direct his header goal wards.
Redbridge had their best chance on 19 minutes when Ogboin rounded the keeper but the ball ran away from him and he wasn't able to get a shot on target. Aveley then took the lead on 25 minutes when Liam Nash got on the end of a cross from the right and was able to stab the ball past Avery.
Redbridge could have equalised on 34 minutes when Lewis Francis burst into the box and stormed past the Aveley keeper but his shot was blocked, Ogboin then stabbed at the rebound but the shot was cleared off the line.
That miss came to haunt Redbridge as James Peagram latched onto a through ball in the final minute of the first half and steered the ball past Avery to give Aveley a 2-0 half-time lead.
Redbridge battled hard in the second half but were not able to create too many chances.
Aveley were also sitting back and taking the sting out of the game and their only chance of note came on 76 minutes when Abs Seymour drilled a shot against the post.
Aveley scored their third via Paul Preston on 84 minutes when he was played in by James Peagram and placed the ball past Avery.
Although Ryan Carolan pulled one back for Redbridge on 86 minutes Aveley then added a fourth just a minute later when Elbi converted a penalty.
