Redbridge were well beaten by the Dockers this evening and the result sends us to the bottom of the table
The Motormen hosted Tilbury just two weeks after suffering a 4-1 reverse against the same side and within just three minutes the away side went ahead.
A mix up between goalkeeper Mark Parker and his defenders allowed former Redbridge player Emiel Aiken to simply thump the ball into the back of an empty net. It was the worst possible start for the home side and things never improved as just 10 minutes later it was 2-0.
Neil Richmond latched onto a through ball before rounding Parker only to see his effort come back off the crossbar and whilst Redbridge defenders were too slow in reacting Tony Martin duly obliged and smashed home the rebound.
The crossbar was shaking again just moments later but this time it came to the home side’s rescue after a long range effort had been struck however it was soon 3-0 when Richmond controlled and his perfectly timed lob beat Parker who was stranded off his line.
The only effort of note in the first period came from a set play when Jamie Alexandrou’s free kick went narrowly wide of Clarke Bogard’s goal.
Into the second half and Tilbury continued to press looking to further increase their lead but Martin’s effort was well off target.
The same player was not further denied when from what appeared an offside position he broke free and beat the advancing Parker to slot home.
Redbridge has just their second chance of the game when this time substitute Rigers Kabashi took a well aimed free kick but again the ball went wide.
Tilbury wrapped the game up when from a corner Joe Nightingill was on hand to simply head home and although Jay Knight pulled back a goal in the last minute it was no more than a consolation on what was a disappointing night for the home supporters in attendance.
Redbridge travel to fellow strugglers Romford on Saturday knowing they will need to pick up some much needed points.
