Redbridge picked up a vital 3 points as they moved off the bottom of the Ryman North Table.
Both sides went into this fixture desperate for the points as they found themselves languishing at the wrong end of the table.
Redbridge had brought in new players to the side over the past week and another one of those in Paulus Ditkevicius came into midfield for his debut whilst another new signing Harry Prince whom was impressive over Phoenix Sports midweek kept his place.
The home side had not picked up a point since August whilst the away side were still in search for their first victory on the road.
The first chance fell to Redbridge when William Drake ran onto a long goal kick and with the defender misjudging the bounce he saw his lobbed effort go just over the bar.
Soham then went on the attack through Ben Sawyer who showed good footwork to drift past two defenders but his final effort lacked any real power.
Jay Knight should have then done better when he found himself unmarked in the box but could only head wide from a Rigers Kabashi corner.
A good chance then fell to Prince who was put through after a lovely pass from Knight but as he attempted to round Harry Reynolds the goalkeeper thwarted him.
Into the 2nd period and the first attempt fell to the away side when the lively Sawyer ran clear at the home defence but was unable to keep his effort on target and could only find the side netting. The same player then had an ever better chance when his header from a Marcus Hail cross went straight into the arms of the relieved Mark Parker.
Redbridge then went up the other end and were awarded a penalty when Joe Gent was upended in the box after a lofted ball into the area from Kabashi. The referee showing no hesitation in pointing the the spot and from the resulting penalty Knight slotted the ball home to give the home side the lead.
Soham shortly after then had a glorious chance to get back into the game when good work again by Sawyer found the unmarked Simon Swinton who dragged his shot wide when he looked odds on to score.
It was a costly miss as the home then side doubled their lead when William Drake got his foot first to the ball as he tried to win a challenge in the box and was as surprised as anyone else to see the ball fly over the head of Reynolds into the back of the net.
Within minutes however the lead was cut soon after when from a corner Ryan Sharman got up highest to thump home a header leaving Parker in goal with no chance.
The game was now becoming very stretched and just as Soham missed a good opportunity to equalise Knight restored Redbridge’s two goal advantage with a well taken goal and the home side were able to hold on for the victory.
