Redbridge went into this home fixture v Heybridge Swifts on the back of 3 consecitive victories which had taken them up to sixth in the table.
The supporters would have been expecting an exciting match after last season's two fixtures ended 3-3.
The home side began on the front foot but it was Heybridge with the first opportunity, skipper Connor Hogan broken the offside trip but with just Samuel Nwabuko to beat the keeper stood firm and made a big stop with his feet.
The away side were having the lion share of possession with uchn of their play coming down the right as they won a series of corners.
Redbridge had their first opportunity when from a Jack Chawner corner , Solomon Ogunwomoju found himself unmarked but headed wide when he really should have found the target.
Heybridge then were awarded a free kick from a good position. up stepped Jack Adlington-Pile who went for goal but his effprt was always going wide.
The second half began with Redbridge pushing forward, a Chawner free kick just dropped over the post.
Heybridge keeper Alan Fleischer then was called upon twice to make important stops denying both Karl Kayembe and Joseph Johnson.
At the opposite end Nwabuko had to be alert to cut out a cross from George Craddock which was heading for Tom Richardson at the far post.
A much improved second half performance from the Motormen, Malachi Napa did wll down the left and his cross defelected kindly to Josh Taylor who shot was blocked away for a corner.
Further chances followed for Redbridge when from a long goal king Napa touch bounced off Fleischer into the path of Solomon Ogunwomoju who saw his first time shot cleared for a corner, Kayembe then saw his effort just drop the wrong side of the upright.
Into added time and it looked like Heybridge would steal it when substitute Samuel Oluwatobi cut inside a defender to get the ball on his favoured foot but put the ball wide when he seemed destined to score.
