The Motormen welcomed Clapton to the Oakside as they looked to continue their unbeaten run in the league.
An early chance for the home side which fell to new striker Ashley Blackburn however his shot was off target. There was then panic in the Clapton back line as a poor defensive header fell short of reaching ex-Redbridge keeper Jack Francis and Calvin Poku managed to get to the ball first however he was eventually crowded out.
A great chance for the home side followed as Asher Modeste did well to win a corner which was swung in by Liam Burgess
finding Modeste all along at the far post unmarked he could only head wide.
The first chance then came for Clapton came through the lively Jeffrey Coblah as he found himself through on goal but his shot was well saved by Lewis Greene. The away side started to see a little more of the ball and got themselves further up the pitch as Redbridge became a little sloppy with their passing especially in defence.
The best chance of the game then followed as Blackburn squared into space finding Poku all along and the striker only had to tap the ball into an empty net however he somehow managed to blast the ball high over the bar when it really was easier to score.
That miss almost proved costly as Cobblah then ran onto a long pass to cross into the middle finding Jay Morris all alone and although he managed to make contact his headed lacked any power and was easily gathered by Greene.
On 33 minutes the home side did take the lead as a deep cross in from the right wing by Asher Bankole found Mosdeste who leapt to head home past the despairing dive of Francis.
Redbridge buoyed by the goal pressed again winning a corner which was taken short finding Sam Baffour who went past his marker with ease before firing in a fierce effort which Francis tipped over but strangely a goal kick was awarded.
Just on half time Clapton thought they were back in it as the ball was scrambled across the goal line however the assistant on the far side had was quick to raise his flag for offside and Redbridge survived and went in at the break a goal to the good.
The second period began with a Ryan Reed free-kick which went just wide of an upright when everyone was expecting a cross.
Again it was Reed in the thick of the action as this time he did swing in a lovely free-kick finding Dylan Ebengo however the defender could only head wide from a good position. The away side certainly had come out the stronger of the two sides this half as they continued to press forward looking for an equaliser.
Redbridge did then break up field as Blackburn powered forward before looking up and putting in a dangerous ball aiming for Poku however the ball was well cleared.
Clapton were then angered as the referee then blew his whistle for a foul on one of their players although they had won advantage in a good position, it appeared their manager then spoke out of turn as the official then summoned the referee who came over to the bench and sent him to the stands.
Brad Gayer then put a ball down the line finding the run of Modeste who tried to lob the out coming Francis who did well to stand firm and deny the player his second goal.
Poku then did well as he beat two men before running into the box to get his shot in which went straight at the keeper who saved well.
Clapton did finally get their goal when Cobblah was allowed far too much time and space as he ran forward before firing home past GREENE to level the scores.
Both sides now felt they could get the winner as the game started to open up and get a little more stretched.
Bankole did well to hold off his marked before his cross found substitute DJ Adelekan who struck first time requiring Francis to stop down low at his left hand post. Another sub in Michael Ogboin was then denied as his headed was cleared off the line before Cobblah at the other end fired from distance stinging the fingertips of Greene.
This proved to the final action of the day as the match then came to an end in which overall the point was probably a fair reflection of the game.
