The Motormen hosted Southend Manor as two sides languishing at the bottom end of the table went in search of a valuable three points.
It was a bright start by the home side and took just 12 minutes before they went in front, Petrit Elbi held the ball up turned and played a pass into the path of Taylor Tombides who got in front of his man and with Manor keeper Connor Pearce off his line played a delightful lob which sailed over him and dropped into the goal.
The home side buoyed by the early lead continued to pressure their opponents and Tombides saw a shot pushed out for a corner before Daniel Gilchrist volleyed straight into Pearce's arms.
Marcus Carter then had an opportunity after the ball fell to him but his shot was always rising before Redbridge had a superb opportunity to score when a free kick was floated in evading everyone before hitting a post and bouncing across the goal mouth finding defender Dean Hall who seemed destined to score but Pearce made a remarkable save at at full stretch he was able to claw the ball away.
Tombides and Gilchrist were linking up well and combined again with the final shot from Tombides flashing wide however they were not to be denied a second goal which came after 40 minutes.
Tombides shot was parried by Pearce but the ball fell invitingly into the path of Gilchrist who made no mistake firing home from close range to double his side's advantage.
The second half had barely began before Manor pulled a goal back when a defensive mix up between keeper Rhys Hughes and defender Quincy Egbejale as they both left the ball for one another allowing Dylan Jones to simply roll the ball into the empty net.
The goal certainly lifted the away side who went so close to finding an equaliser when Murphy Duncan headed down into the area finding Jordan Chambers whose shot was tipped around the post by a diving Hughes.
Redbridge needed another goal to kill off this game and should have had it when Gilchrist put in Paul Preston who pulled the ball back across goal to Elbi who missed the shot before Tombides fired wide when it was easier to hit the target.
Manor again showed they were still in the game when a long ball caught out Billy Willis allowing Danny Pallett in on goal but he was denied the shot by a superbly timed tackle by Hall who then cleared the danger.
The third goal did eventually come after 70 minutes when Gilchrist found Tombides in the middle, he took one touch to control the ball before firing in a volley with his second touch which flew over the head of Pearce into the back of the net.
Three soon became four when Tombides laid the ball back to his strike partner Gilchrist who fired home his second of the game.
Manor should have scored when a good run by Jones saw his shot parried by Hughes straight into the path of substitute Harry Salter who could only fire over the bar from close range.
Redbridge substitute Liam Burgess then had a powerful shot from distance before Dylan Bradford carried the ball from the half way line before finally getting in a shot which Hughes held.
The whistle was blown on a positive Motormen performance which saw us pick up just a second home league win of the season
