The Motormen entertained Walthamstow as they looked to bounce back from Friday’s home defeat against Woodford Town whilst Walthamstow themselves were looking for the points after being held by lowly Leyton at the weekend.
It was the home side who had the first attempt when a loose ball fell to Glody Nsamu but he could not keep his effort down and fired over, Jack Stevenson then fired in a powerful cross which was parried away by Chris Clark in goal before the ball was eventually cleared to safety.
Walthamstow however were looking lively in attack and went ahead after 13 minutes, a good dummy by Junior Appiah saw him beat his man before putting in a low cross finding Billy Jones who skilfully turned his man and shot hard and low past the despairing dive of Lewis Greene.
Almost immediately from kick off Walthamstow were back on the attack as Ryan Ramsay found himself through on goal only to be denied by a good stop by Greene.
The momentum was now firmly with the away side and it was no real surprise to see them extend their lead just before the break when poor marking allowed Appiah to head home from a Ryan Ramsay corner
The Motormen had the first chance of the 2nd period when a free kick was struck from distance by skipper Vinny Murphy and went through a host of bodies almost catching out Clark however his quick reactions denied a goal.
Redbridge changed things up by making e a double substitution as they looked to try and get a foothold back into the game but there was little change in momentum and their best effort came through a Jack Stevenson attempt which drifted wide.
A lucky escape followed for the home side as James Peagram found himself through on goal and tried curling the ball with the outside of his foot which only just went narrowly wide
Redbridge did finally start to impose themselves on the opposition having their best spell of possession and had a great chance to score when sub Larry Asare suddenly found himself in space but agonisingly shot wide when he really should of found the target.
At the other end Walthamstow sub Christian Owusu made room for himself but skied his effort well over the bar however it was 0-3 shortly after as a long ball found the run of Peagram and he made no mistake rifling a powerful shot leaving Greene with no chance.
Asare once again had a good opportunity as he outmuscled his marker before getting in a shot but hit straight at the keeper. Careless play from Redbridge then presented Walthamstow with another chance but this time Jones curled his effort wide of the upright.
The Motormen continue to press but the away defence and goalkeeper Clark was proving very difficult to beat as the referee then blew time on proceedings which saw Redbridge beaten at home for the third successive game with league leaders Hullbridge arriving at the weekend.
