Redbridge got heir first victory in six games winning 3-1 at Cockfosters. A brace from debutante Hassan Nalbant and Tom Harvey goal sealed the win.

Whilst there was big news coming out of North London with managerial changes at Spurs , just a few miles away at Cockfosters there was an important ESL clash taking place against Redbridge.

Both sides came into the match on the back of bad results at the weekend so were looking to bounce back with victory.

Redbridge gave new signing Hassan Nalbant his debut while Joe Maskell returned to the line up in defense.

The first real chances fell to Nalbant as he found his way through a couple of challenges bearing down on goal but was only able to shoot off target.

The home side then attacked with pace down the right flank before the ball was put across into the box finding Ned Clarke who could only head wide.

Redbridge were having the majority of possession but were guilty on several occasions of not finding the final killer pass.

A Tom Harvey free kick was tipped over by Brad Robinson before Bill Healey got himself into a good position only to be denied by Florent Gislette in the Redbridge goal.

A quick break by Redbridge saw Nalbant in space and with Robinson way out off his area he attempted an audacious lob which looked to be heading goal bound only to hit the stanchion before falling wide.

The remainder of the first half saw little in the way of chances with the game crying out for a goal.

The second period began with an early free kick for the home side which was fired in by Ryan Wade only to be punched clear by Gislette.

The ball landed back to Wade whose pass then found Billy Healy in what appeared an offside position but he found the target from close range to put his side ahead.

Redbridge almost grabbed an immediate reply when a free kick was floated in before coming off a Cockfosters head which required a good stop from Robinson.

A good chance for the equaliser then went begging after a good ball was put across the goal mouth but Jordayne Henry was unable to get the vital touch lurking at the far post.

They were not to be denied however as Harvey swung in a corner and from inside a crowded penalty box Nalbant managed to squeeze the ball over the line to level the score.

Cockfosters still had hopes of winning this and only a point blank save from Gislette denied Healy from grabbing his second.

That proved to be a costly miss as substitute Eamon Payne then released Harvey who first time hit his curling effort into the far corner to turn the match around.

The home side then had a big shout for a penalty when Ned Clarke appeared to be upended in the box yards from the referee who waved play on much to the annoyance of the Cockfosters players and faithful followers looking on.

With them continuing to push for an equaliser they were hit on the break when Nalbant won possession near the half way line and proceeded to run goal wards before he unleashed a shot past Robinson to take the game away from the hosts and give Redbridge their first win in six matches.
