Ben Newson, Luke Callander, Michael Cheek and Solomon Ofori were the men that made it happen. Third highest victory ever for Swifts and nothing like this for 54 years. A league double aggregate of 19 as well creating a Ryman League record.
Heybridge did a league double over Redbridge in emphatic style as the Scraley Road club went completely goal crazy. It was the first time since 1958 that the Club hit double figures and became the biggest victory their current stadium has seen.
Three players grabbed a hat-trick as Swifts continued their Xmas feast of form. Ben Newson on three minutes side footed home, followed by a goal on 22 minutes from Callander buried low on 22 minutes. Within a minute great link up between Cheek and Stamp allowed a little flick up for Ben Newson to smash the ball home inside the box for his second. Redbridge mustered a shot from Cleaver which Eyre superbly tipped over the bar, moments later Luke Callander's 30 yard drive was superbly tipped round the post but Swifts were only just beginning. Michael Cheek latched onto a Callander pass inside the opposing half to calmly slot home for Swifts' fourth just after the half hour with number five arriving two minutes later when Callander walked the ball into the net after bypassing keeper Neil.
Luke Callander turned from goal scorer to provider for number six on 37 minutes when he laid forward a pass for Cheek who slid through the mud with keeper and defender and somehow came through the other side to score before taking his celebrations down the tunnel. Ben Newson wrapped his hat-trick just before the break running through the Redbridge half before shooting on target. 7-0 at the break was turned into eight on 48 minutes when Cheek netted his third, running into the area to score. Five minutes later Stamp ran down the left, passed to Callander who lofted the ball in for his hat-trick.
Luke Callander hit his fourth when a corner was helped on for him to control and score from just two yards out as Swifts sauntered into double figures and the spectacle was complete when Solomon Ofori ran at the keeper and lifted the ball in from a Cheek pass. Redbridge did at least hit the post in stoppage time to show they were there in a game that will live long in the memory for Stadium and spectator
