Both goals came in the first half ,against a middle of the league team that fought well throughout and at times proved to be strong oppositon but nothing like the performance last year when the game was brought to a holt as a result of the fog.
Witham had Lee Townrow making his debut who scored one and had a hand in the other.
Witham started well with an early goal when with just five minutes on the clock Tom Wraight was put clear on the left and his perfect cross was hammered in by town leading goal scorer Kris Newby.
The visitors fought back and the Witham defence were put under pressure, Witham however scored a second when Townrow put Danny Emmanuel clear down the wing and his cross was met by Townrow to head into the net.
The second half was just a midfield struggle with hardly a shot at goal , yet Redbridge did have a chance to pull one back when they were awarded a penalty after Paul King's tackle in the box but the worst taken penalty taken at spa road for many a year was saved by guest.
Later in the game Redbridge were reduced to ten men when their skipper Daniel Smith received a straight red card for a vicious tackle on the live wire Danny Emmanuel, late in the game guest did get some action with a good save from Liam Thomas.
