In form Redbridge were back at the Oakside for the second time in a week as they hosted West Essex who were looking to end a poor run of six league games without victory.
The Motormen started on the front foot forcing an early corner which was headed over by Jack Roult
The opening goal didn’t take long to arrive with just five minutes on the clock however surprisingly it was by the away side, a lovely through ball by Samraj Gill cut open the home defence finding the intelligent run of David Bell who kept his composure to slot past Michael Corderoy in the Redbridge goal.
David Xavier then played a ball over the top again searching for Bell who almost got on the end of it as the away side looked like a side who were certainly not short of confidence.
Redbridge were finding it tough to break down their opponents and showing little in the final third, their best showing came through a Robbie Norris free-kick which failed to trouble Jack Coker in goal.
The away side came forward once again as Symeon Taylor got on the wrong side of Jake Brocklebank before unleashing an effort which was palmed away by Corderoy before being hacked to safety by Dean Hall before anyone in a West Essex shirt could react.
It really should have been 2-0 soon after when Bell saw his shot agonizingly drop just inches the wrong side of the upright , it was an almighty let off for the home side.
Redbridge finally had their big chance when the ball landed at the feet of Ibrahim Kehinde just yards from goal but he spurned the opportunity however they did not have to wait much longer to get back into the game.
A corner was floated in and in a crowded box the ball was headed up onto the bar before dropping down into the area finding Hall in the right place at the right time to fire home the rebound and level the scores.
The goal certainly woke Redbridge up and it was almost a second for Hall when he got his head to a Norris free-kick but failed to keep the ball down as it sailed over the bar in what proved to be the final chance of the 1st half.
The second period began as the first ended with Hall once again showing his ariel presence winning a headed but only managing to direct his effort into the arms of Coker.
Kehinde then took advantage of hesitation between defender and goalkeeper who both left if for each other as he stole in to stab the ball back across an empty goal mouth.
West Essex then came forward for the first time in the half as poor Redbridge defending almost gifted them a goal on two separate occasions but the chance was gone as quickly as it arrived.
Their was very little of note in the attacking sense for the remainder of the match as Redbridge continued to be frustrated by their opponents as they were unable to find the breakthrough and even when they did find a way through at the very end Coker was able to save well from substitute Tayo Josh Olukolo.
Full time was then blown on a night which Redbridge will certainly see as two points dropped as they missed out on the chance to go 3rd whilst West Essex climb a place up into 12th
