Redridge entertained Chesunt in the 2nd round of the Robert Dyas sponsored Ryman League Cup at the Oakside, the last time the two sides met just 3 weeks ago Cheshunt were leading 3-0 after 79 min before an amazing comeback saw the Motormen score five times to win the game.
The early pressure came from the home side with a succesion of corners but came to nothing whilst Cheshunts best chance came when Allen Bossman weaved his way past George Winn finding Josh Fagbohun who missed the target.
The opening goal was scored after 37 minutes and went to the home side when Winn cut in from the left wing looked up and let fly from fully 25 yards out , his shot giving Glenn Williamson in goal no chance. It was the youngster's first goal for the club in what was just his 4th start since making the jump up from the Under 21’s side.
Into the 2nd half and as expected Cheshunt came out in serach of the equaliser and almost levelled when a thunderous effort bounced off the crossbar. The resulting corner saw a header which looked to be heading for the top corner although Jack Avery got his fingertips to and managed to tip away to safety.
With 11 minutes remaining Cheshunt finally got back into the match when the ball was poked home from inside a crowded Redbridge area with nobody seeming able to tell who got the final touch.
With no extra time being played the match was seemingly heading towards the dreaded penalty shoot out but Cheshunt got the winner with just two minutes remaining when Avery's blocked save saw the ball fall kindly into the path of Adam Bolle who lobbed home into an empty net.
