Our first match back after a 6 week lay off put us up against Grays in a league fixture. As usual we started slowly allowing Gray’s a lot of early possession.
Both keepers where tested by long range efforts in the first 20 minutes.
Redbridge began to awaken and get their team interplay going and began pressuring the Grays goal; chances came and went.
Highlight of the first half was fantastic triple save by the Grays keeper who somehow managed to deny Tarbard from opening the scoring.

Second half Redbridge came out determined to turn chances into goals.
In 40th minute Heanue lobbed the keeper and hit the post; somehow the rebound went wide.
Once again the Grays keeper was performing miracles keeping the score at 0-0.
Then on 50 minutes a high ball to Heanue was flicked neatly into the path of Portway who took the ball round the Grays keeper and squeezed the ball from a tight angle into an empty net 1 nil to Redbridge.
Grays reacted by launching an assault on the Redbridge goal; only solid defending and a couple of good saves from Morris kept the scoreline at 1:0.
Redbridge weathered the Grays storm and began to go looking for their second to wrap up the points.
A great strike by Short was only denied by yet another great save by the Grays keeper.
The pressure eventually told and Sheehan made it 2 nil when he squeezed the ball over the line following a corner that led to a goal mouth scramble on the 67th minute.

The final whistle went with the score 2 nil to Redbridge; our boys worked very hard and played as a single unit covering each other and that made the difference.
